Time Magazine discovers the groove!
We noted earliee that "suddenly tubes are hot"! Seems like Time magazine has also picked up on the move back to the groove and the uptick in purchases of old and newly released vinyl albums:From college dorm rooms to high school sleepovers, an all-but-extinct music medium has been showing up lately. And we don't mean CDs. Vinyl records, especially the full-length LPs that helped define the golden era of rock in the 1960s and '70s, are suddenly cool again.
Of course, if you are going to play vinyl even if you don't go all the way retro back to vacuum tubes (available in our Vintage and Classic Audio section) you can still find turntables right here , Vacuum Tube Ipod? - It's all about the Tubes!
Suddenly tubes are hot! and we're not talking about Senator Ted Stevens infamous "internet is a series of tubes" monologue. We're talking about vacuum tubes and while we've always had vacuum tubes of course in our Vintage and Classic Audio section it seems that the rest of the world is now getting hip to the retro gear.First, there was an article in the New York Times on Tubing your Ipod and then of course the "blogging" world picked up on the story and and ran with it.

Yes, listening to music is a subjective experience, but a lot of folks (including us) will swear that analog sound reproduction, when reproduced on good quality stereo equipment has a warmth and energy that pure digital reproduction seems to be missing.
So, if you decide to add some vacuum tube equipment to enrich your listening experience, we're here to help you. If you want to add components specifically with an Ipod in mind then check out our tubed Ipod section. In any case just keep in mind its what you like that matters and just kick back and enjoy the music.
